I'm wondering if you tried the "Meet-A-Mate" phone number to land yourself a proper concubine?
You're going to need someone to wash and wax all those Scouts...
Not sure if you can believe it Alex but i have a line of applicants already haha

Typically the previous owners do things on our scouts we hate or have to remove, in this one odd instance I’m pretty happy. There’s some black substance that was spread over the bare metal on RedBull, and when I saw it in pictures before delivery I assumed it was covering rust or hiding something ugly. Surprise! It’s bare metal underneath.
Residue elsewhere wet sanded out paint was shiny there too after buffing.

It’s got character in some places and “class” in others! The front grill is outstanding, straight and clean. First Scout 80 or 800 I’ve had where the chrome headlight bezels were original and came off easily and had no pitting. I polished the chrome and the grill and just need to change one marker lens. Tidy and shiny 😬

Wait a minuet Ed,you didnt even know what a T3 was till saturday.
Haha he told me this as well! Nice work educating him Jeff!
Well Jeff, you really know how to hurt a fragile ego..... I know precisely three things about Scouts. One, they are really fun to drive when and if they drive. Second, they are time and money pits but we gotta have 'em. And third, T-3 headlights are slowly going the way of the dodo's, that is to say, slowly becoming extinct as they haven't been manufactured for many decades now. Full disclosure, I knew nothing about the third item until this past weekend when Mr. Jamison informed me of that, and many other, early Scout trivia.

Speaking of kind of rare items, a local IH friend posted some parts for sale and he had a side mirror that caught my eye. I’d never had one this style but a quick look in the Scout encyclopedia and I found a match.

I knew I hated the trailer side mirror on RedBull, so I picked up the local mirror up by Milwaukee.

I stripped the old paint, and cleaned up the metal, clearcoated it to match the existing patina, plugged the old holes, and installed the mirror. Really like it! Mounting plate is also concave to match the door surface, pretty neat.

To be inspired, is to be motivated yes?
A few years ago I may have not taken as much of an interest in a Scout 80 like RedBull. And then a picture came across a Scout page that convinced me I hadn’t given the 80 as much of a chance as the 800 and later. So when I did find this red gem I knew one thing, I had to get the top off and cruise with the windshield down! I wasn’t prepared for how nice the condition would be so now I may be more attached than I wanted to be….

Wait a dog gone second..... I'm pretty sure you already posted a pic of Gold Digger in front of the Village Squire. Double dipping trickles down to the Scout world too! But it is a cool look.

Even though the Lil Sh!t doesn't run, I lowered her windshield the other day just to make Barb jealous and hope the latter starts to play fair.

Previous owner saw the bumpers with their original nearly 60 year old patina, and decided to match the paint to the wheels he added. Really wish he had left them alone with the original silver gray metallic paint and rust but he spray bombed them white. I couldn’t handle the lily white look so I added some patina. May do more later but at least now it has more of the “look” that RedBull exudes….

The only Real spot of rust that is noticeable on RedBull is the tailgate, but still quite solid. Just the same I wanted to address that and try to blend the paint and maintain the originality and patina.

I pulled the spare tire rack, and I don’t think it had ever been taken off since new! Tailgate lettering behind it was perfect. I patched the lower tailgate with metal, filler, then primer and paint and blending clearcoat over the original paint so you cannot detect where the new color starts or ends.

Then I buffed the end caps to match the tailgate gloss and I’m very pleased with the results….
