The dealer that sold it new is less than 20 miles from me I'm the third owner the guy I got it from knew the farmer that bought it new after trying to buy it for years he talked him into the sale truck needed a front axle and he did a valve job on it. I traded 3 guns even for it best trade ever. Oh yeah the farmer lives 20 miles opposite direction from dealer so trucks always been 20 miles from where it was sold. Talked to the 95 year old man that sold it new great stories from that guy he still works every day at his IH dealership. To me that makes this truck priceless have had 10 offers on it sorry NOT FOR SALE that is my sons inheritance I don't think he'd forgive me if I sold it IH on everyone!

I found it a facebook site. It was in Clarksville, AR. The guy had bought it 8 or 9 years ago for a project and just let it sit. It looks decent from the outside but is very rusty, no front floorboards, cowl and door hinge areas all need alot of work. I have the line setting ticket and alot of documentation with the truck. It was originally a civil defense truck in Northern Illinois then it went to St. Louis where it was used as a work truck for a carpentry business from there it came to arkansas. My father always had scouts when i was a kid and my first vehicle was a 1980 scout. I had several other scouts through the years but always wanted a pickup so i bought this one when i seen it up for sale.

Got the travelette out of the garage today since it was nice and got a couple updated pictures.

 

That is N I C E !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is that an IH box????? I saw one a few years ago with the IH box (reg. cab) but I was just a little to late to get it. Is it a 1200 or 1300???? Oh ya, were in AR do you have pine trees, looks like MN. I'm trying to find a good replacement for the IH front bumper(only one of mine has one) I'll post on this web site if I find one. Yes it is a IH utility bed theres a small tag on the front passenger side of it. I'm in the NE part of Ar on Crowleys ridge. There's plenty of pine and cedar trees around here. I have the factory pto winch and front bumper it's just off right now so i can straighten it,clean it and paint it.

 

Can't wait to see pics!!!! I really like that year!!!!!!! Learned to drive in my Dad's 66 IH work truck and I was born in 66. Michael

An update! My scout now looks like this: also, pumpkin has a new home. Someone from the st Louis area came down and drove it back.
