I'm looking for a (passenger side) defroster vent for a 72 1210. Maybe both sides are the same? Winter is here! Please PM if you have anything. Thanks

In Frederick, MD:
(Technically, Jefferson, MD)

I was driving my Scout, and a guy saw me in a parking lot, and asked if I needed parts.

He says he has a 72 4WD half ton pickup with a 345 that is about to be hauled off to a junkyard in a few days due to rust and storage issues.

His name is James. You can call him at 301-8Three4-7312. He'll sell parts or the whole thing.

I am posting this for a Gal that works at the NRA. It's her fiance's vehicle and she posted it today on the NRA bulliten board where some one who knew I had Scouts saw it and contacted me.

1977 International Scout II
345 V8 Engine
Dana 44 axles
Autolockers
Flowmaster Dual Exhaust
Body Lift
Roll Cage
Removable top

This Scout has new brakes, battery, fuel pump, brake master cylinder, and a rebuilt carburetor. All of the important rust prone areas have been replaced with stainless steel. It starts and drives great, though it would probably benefit from having the carburetor professionally tuned. I have used this as a camping and hunting vehicle mostly and even a daily driver for a short time. It has been reliable in all of those roles.

The price is firm at $4,000 cash

The vehicle is currently located in Fairfax Station/ Lorton VA
Please contact Chris at <mcconnellcs@gmail.com> for details[/B][/SIZE][/B]

That Scout came from Harrisonburg a few years ago. All I will say is look close at it prior to plunking down the cash. Not that it's bad, but the local Vo-Tech did the paint and body work on it, around about the same time I did R/T. From what I recall, the new quarters were installed over the existing ones, and there was excessive filler in it to make things appear to line up, etc. I never looked it over really hard, and I know a lot more now than I did 7 or 8 years ago...but knowing that high school kids did it as a project, I would look at it first. It may be fine...just throwing out the info that I know.

EDIT---It may still be IN Harrisonburg...that picture was taken in the guy's back yard. It is the same fella that had the white D Travelall a few months ago.

Never mind, I found one :)

Looking for an 80/800 in restorable shape. I'd like to trade my 83 F100 if possible. Willing to travel anywhere in VA, WV, MD or NC, but I need to be able to drive the Scout back to Richmond.

I'm looking for a functional tailgate that will fit my L model pickup. I was told R&S models will work as well. The truck is butt ugly so I don't mind if the tailgate matches as long as it will open and close. Please PM if you can help.
Thanks, Dave

Went and looked at a Scout in Barboursville Saturday, it's a '73 with 63,000 Miles on it, the current owner picked it up recently out of a barn whee it had been for the last ten years, it starts and runs, It's an 8, but I'm not sure if it's a 304 or 345. It's got a 4 speed, and Dana 20, and the cleanest rockers I've seen on an unrestored Scout II. The top and floor boards in the front look great too, all glass is intact, and the interior looks pretty decent (Buckets and rear bench).

The bad; Windshield frame doesn't look so good, the rear quarters and end caps are pretty bad, the rear floor has been repaired, and the tailgate has a line of rust thru on the inside.

If it doesn't sell, he'll be scrapping it before long (He didn't actually say when).

Sorry I didn't get more pics, I should have taken some shots of the whole truck.

If anyone wants contact information for Roy, PM me and I'll get you in touch with him...

Looks like a relatively unmolested specimen. Did Roy have an asking price, or is he entertaining all offers?

(Just curious; I do *not* need another Scout right now! :D )

$800 was what he offered it to me at, but he was also entertaining offers, I would have taken it, but I also don't need another scout right now.

The Above mentioned Scout has been sold, the guy who bought it will be making a pure wheeler out of it, and will be putting up the travel top for sale, It's in great shape, with just a few spots of surface rust, I'll try to get pics and a price up tomorrow.
