"new" comp cam reuse?

i have the cam that was less than a week old in my 345, that i want to use in my rebuilt 392. as soon as i tore down the 345 i put the lifters in oil and left the cam in the block. now i'm gonna get the engine soon, i had someone tell me to keep the lifters where they were....oops.... will it be ok if they're mixed up, can i rebreak it in?

Put new lifters on it, even if you had them in order they may not wear the same in a different block.
