Perfect Timing Fred! I wanna see who snagged that $150 1979 SII on CL, and the $100 welder, post a photo of that beast! That was the one that posted up a few months back and the guy wanted to build a high-steer hunting rig out of it. I was scheduled to meet him this morning @ 7:00 and someone from Sugarland got there last night! :censored:
My Bad luck!:stuart:
Congrats to whomever got the prize.

Here’s the 77 SSII I found on CL awhile back. I haven’t done much to it. It's running but has a coolant leak I can’t seem to track down. I have enjoyed meeting some of you and I’m looking forward to meeting others this Saturday (and seeing your rides).

I think I've posted it before but not in the GCB section. Last october I bought a 1970 800A that was abandoned for $1000. Its been sitting in Tulsa where I bought it ever since but I think I finally arranged a friend to tow it down here 2/20 weekend. Got a few questions though. Think I'll be OK just renting a UHaul car trailer (not dolley)? I dont own a trailer or have access to one so I had planned to rent one.

Anyway Here's a few pics of the Scout...its going to need a lot of work but I"m hoping to keep it completely original with the exception of a set of Scout II 4wheel disc D44 axles in place of the closed knuckle D30 and flanged D44 in the rear.

First thing to go is going to be those god awful TSL Thornturds!

Look forward to getting out to your next meetup...and eventually getting to a meetup in the Scout!

Looks like a good starter, appears to be in better shape than a lot I have seen.

U-haul has weight limits on their trailers so if you plan to tow a Ford Fiesta you are OK, but mention a Scout and I am not so sure.

Yeah..... I hauled mine from dallas and I told them it was a honda tuscan....
Any I only blew one tire....haha

Is your friend in OK and bringing it here, or does he live here and you are going up and back from here?
A uhaul is much cheaper going round trip than 1 way. Even the extra cost of the fuel draging an empty trailer would probably still come out cheaper. But it would slow you down some

He's a coworker that was relocated from tulsa as well down here and has an F250 Diesel. He's got a farm north of tulsa and has to go back tend to some business on his farm up there. I could ask him if he wouldnt mind towing a trailer from here to Tulsa...but I doubt he would go for it for the slowdown factor...

If you need a car hauler there are a couple places I use for rental that dont care what you are hauling, 55 to 75 a day.

Just a few of pics of my Jeep-Eater with its hood off...gettin the radiator boiled and patched until I can afford a new one. As you can see she used to be that beautiful orange. Other than paint and some minor, irritating changes, she's all original. And no, the odometer hasn't turned over yet. More pics to follow. I've gotta lot of plans for this one, but right now she's my daily driver soooo one step at a time. Whens the next meeting? I've been wanting to meet you guys and throw a few back.

That's a nice looking ride, Ten4, but I would not want to be the guy who roofs your house, (lol).
Look forward to meeting you and welcome!

You wouldn't want to be the guy that lives in those houses either... footprint is less than 400 ft2... been looking for another place, south of Huntsville and North of Houston. Preferably someplace where I don't have to answer the door with one hand and and be prepared to pull the trigger with my other. Every sound outside and I'm runnin to check the scout.
