Hi all, I've been searching around and like a noob can't seem to find the right keywords to find what Info I'm after.

Short version, 1968 loadstar 1600, looking for diff swap info to improve braking, gearing for hauling and highway travel, lowering the loadstar and also installing 22.5s.

I'm sure it's been covered to death so if someone can point me in the right direction with a link or a build to follow I'd be very appreciative.

Thanks

There is a fairly huge following of Loadstar groups on FB and this has been a common topic. Many people when staying with the stock chassis have swapped in newer International 4700-4900 axles. That typically get them newer disc brake setups, pilot hubs, and easier to find gear sets. The thing you will need to consider is the rear gear set. You will likely need to swap the rear gear set to get the proper rpm/mph operating range depending on what engine you choose to run.
