At my clubs christmas party one of the member told me about this. I wasn't sure I wanted another since been selling some to cut back. Well went to look at it decided the price was to high and left. To months later after lost her number me and my boy drove over after work one satuday it was still there. So I bought it. It is a one owner( past owner owned an IH dealership) 1980 scout II traveler midas, dana 300, auto, 345, 4 barrel. Seems to have everything from the headliner clock to bucket seats in the rear with cooler console. I think the only thing it might have had a thid seat. Here are a few pics more to come.

Here are a few more pic's. Got here running good now. Wondering if anyone knows who repairs clocks. It is not working but might just be unhooked. I haven't got that far yet. I have to find a new grill also. I was glad to se that the radio was in working shape. I have never run into a IH tape player stereo.

ihfarms - nice find! That interior looks super nice... the headliner looks brand new. Is the console in the picture between the front or rear seats? If it's in the front, do the front seats swivel?

I have never had a midas before. The clock is really strange it has a dimmer and alarm and other odd ball things on it. This scout came with everything right down to the warranty road side card all the books and line set. Looking forward to getting this one done. It does have hail damage but I think I can repair most of that.

The front seats swivel. There is no console in the front. The rear has the console between the seats. Pretty sweet. Everything works also. Drove it around yesterday about 50 mile ran great. It had been sitting since 94.

It's probably not hooked up.. The wire runs along the top where the windshield and top meet. Usually held in with some nasty black gunk.
Then comes down along the drivers side (I think).

I have two clocks.. one which came with my midas and another spare someone found for me. Fairly simple electronics and easily fixed if some component burnt out.

I miss my 1980 Midas Traveler.. One of the smoothest and nicest riding scouts I ever had..

Got digging around in the glove box. Found all the paper work. I even found the past owners will. That is a first. I am looking for a good grill if anyone has one let me know.

Just read the will nothing about the scout. It is the stranges thing that I have ever found with a scout. Though it is kind of cool in a strange way. This is going to be a great daily driver. My plans are repair the few rust spots. Have my painter at work give it a good coat of paint. I am going to use this scout to tow me and my boys motorcross bike. I think its a sweet vintage ride. Got to love the shagg!:punk:

SSS did have a 'special' on some NOS 1980 grilles that were slightly oversize. I think with a little die grinder work they'd work fine, don't know if they still have any though.
