Hello All,
Help I am a new automotive rookie to the IH world. 1971 1210 2wd 392E engine 4 barrel Holley carb.

Question 1
Would someone let me know if the part on the first 4 photos is an oil pressure sensor or what this part is??Also a replacement part number if possible. Seems like metal line is coming from multiport(circled in blue photo 8) on intake manifold then a rubber line going directly to part. It's just above the transmission cover.

Question 2
In photo 8 ( top of engine) not sure why they would plug a screw (circled in yellow) on the rubber hose going into intake manifold. What exactly is the the purpose of the port circled in yellow and the multiport circled in blue.

Question 3
Also does anyone have the water coolant flow diagram for 392E motor??

Question 4
Does anyone know where I can buy an emergency brake cable replacement for 1971 1210 2wd?Rear cables and front

Thanks

The blue-circled part is the manifold vacuum source. The yellow one looks to be manifold vacuum, also, but more than that I can’t tell you. Others will certainly enlighten you.

Your other pix are too underexposed to reveal anything, unfortunately.

The 1st photo is a speedometer ratio adapter. While most speedo gears in the transmission accurately give the correct speed on the speedometer, some tire and axle combinations can throw it off. That little gear box helps correct any difference.

The next 3 are a vacuum shift modulator. The transmission's up or down shift points can be adjusted by it depending on how deep the driver's foot is in the throttle. Another way to say it is the shifts are "modulated" by manifold vacuum such as a delayed up shift from full throttle acceleration.

Q1. That is the vacuum modulator for the Borg-Warner automatic transmission.
Q2,. That is how some people plug vacuum hoses when they don't know what they are doing.
Q3. Basically,....Coolant flow out the bottom of the radiator thru the lower radiator hose into the water pump.
Water pump then pumps water thru the coolant tubes into the engine.
Water flows out of the thermostat housing (on the top of the intake manifold) thru the upper radiator hose into the top of the radiator.
When the thermostat is closed, water
flows thru the smaller bypass hose to the water pump, keeping coolant flowing thru the engine at all times.
Q4. Try InlineTube in Michigan. www.inlinetube.com ...or any IHC Light Line Dealer
