Hi Folks,
Dan here. Just joined Sonora Desert Scouts a few weeks ago. Someday soon, I'm looking forward to meeting you on the road. I have a 1963 Scout 80, 154. I'm rebuilding this machine, she runs and drives. Has some rust (LOL) that I'm working on now. I understand the Dana 27's in this machine are not good. Would like to have disc brakes and a setup that can be serviced. Does anyone know where I can find a front Dana 44 with Disc brakes, same for the rear? Also i have no clue how to convert/modify/mount them on a Scout 80. Axles were not something I learned in school. Thanks!
Rusty AKA Dan.

Hi J.P.
Thanks for letting me know. I'm new to scout construction so thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I don't use facebook so I will send an email. Thank you kindly for providing me that direction as well.

Nothing. Zero replies and I reached out on several forums. Ended up ordering axles after saving for a few months.

I don't know about an upcoming meeting. I joined a Scout Club out here but they seem to do everything on Facebook, which I don't use so....

Yup, Sonora Desert Scouts is the Arizona club. All our meetings and contact avenues are on the website: www.sonoradesertscouts.com. You can also sign up for our newsletter (just got a new one out yesterday).

Hope you can join us!

Sorry work has been busy for the last couple months. Will try to make the next meeting. Haven't made a lot of progress on my Scout lately.....

Dan I just joined last month myself and I am in Tucson. I recently obtained a pair of rough scout 80s (62 and 65) that I am working on and one of them has a rear dif with broken spyder gears. Interestingly the front dif ratio tag is 4.27 and rear is 4.88--guess that set the stage for the disaster. investigating if cheaper/easier to replace the whole differential with a functional pullout used one. Anyway, what are your plans for the old rear and front differentials you have? are they functional as is, what ratio and what would you be willing to sell them for? Thanks, Gary
