  • Scott, Nice Scout! Can you please tell me what size rim and offset or backspace your new wheels are? They sit perfect with the flares. They’re 35x12.5 correct?
    Thank you!
Great! I forgot to ask for your name and address, to add to the shipping label.
    Thanks again.

Hi Scott - the package arrived yesterday. Thank you again and I can assure you it will go to good use keeping my Scout alive!

Wow that's a really nice offer that I would love to take you up on.
If you provide me your email I can email you a UPS shipping label if that works for you.

    Sounds good!
Either way, if the wiring is clean, I may buy it from you anyway and piecemeal together what I can off of it. My wiring is a mess!!
    Thanks!

I don't have the back section. I have the full interior and the front headlights and horn section. The interior section is pretty clean given its 40 years old. The connectors on the headlight and horn section are brittle and broken from years being in the elements but the wiring is solid. All the bulkhead connections are really solid.

I tell you what, I will just give it to you for shipping cost. I just want to get life out of these old parts. Shipping will probably be $20-$30. I have been getting killed on it. If you want it let me know and I will box it up, weigh it and get the actual shipping cost.
My Scout is a 78, but I am told the wiring from the bulkhead connector is off a 79. It's basically the round bulkhead connection. I am looking for wiring that goes to rear of the vehicle for brake lights, running lights, reverse lights, fuel gauge, etc.
Do you think the setup you have for sale is compatible with mine?
    Thank you!

Hi Jeff...let me check. I know I have the round connector but I am not sure its for the rear. There really isn't a ton of wires going back there. You pretty much named them all.
Scott do ya still have poly fuel tank?
    Thanks. Ralph rdz1957@yahoo.com

I do, but I decided to use it. I still have the steel tank. It is in great shape. It was easier to use the poly than to paint the outside of the steel tank. If you want the steel tank, its yours for the shipping cost.
Hello, is the stock tranny still with ya?

Hey...sorry for delay. I never got notified of a message. I don't have the stock tranny. It went with the motor.
Good afternoon, Scott. I've enjoyed following your thread I'm working on a 1978 Scout II that needs quite a bit of work and am working on my fuel system now. I may be interested in the poly tank if you are not going to use it and would like to sell it. I'm planning to drop the old tank this weekend, so I'll know for sure if I need one then. Thanks, Wyatt 251-635-9098
Hello Scott, what condition is the motor in? I have been debating about installing a 350 but my engine died ahead of schedule and I wasn't ready for the expenses yet. Feel free to call me if you would like to talk. 512-789-6102.
