Hi Tony,

If he has more of these and they work please advise--I could use two! One for the M-1-4 and one for my newest acquisition an M-2-4, early one.

Thanks, Dave.

Tony, The radiator cap that says water looks like a typical Farmall radiator cap from the early A's,B's.C's,H's and M's, also John Deere used the same cap and it is readily available from many tractor restoration companies. IH also used the same cap on their gas tanks, only the wording on those was "Buy clean fuel, keep it clean" So if the radiator and gas caps are the same on the M-2, the fuel cap from the tractors would work on the M-2 as well. As far as I know the M trucks all use the same size gas cap, and I bought my last one at Napa.
The original was made by Eaton.
My radiator cap I got at tractor supply it was hanging on the rack with the ford stuff.
One of the things to remeber when talking tothe counter people is they don't have a clue what you are looking for so you need to help them by showing them what you are looking for or giving them a starting place in their books like a 1946 K7.
Anyone got an M5 and an M2 (Jeff) they can check the gas cap interchange on them by trying them in the field.
My M5 radiator cap is a stant cap that came in a blue and yellow Napa box the counter guy at Napa brought out a bunch to compare the one I bought was for a 1960 White.
A radiator shop should be able to find any cap you need, they have catalogs that show neck size and depth. If its a shop thats in an older industrial area of town they may have an NOS cap.

Happy hunting

IT froze here last night, time to drain the engine blocks in them sitters.

To your point Dave here's a website that offers a similar cap--not sure on the dimensions.

BTW, perhaps a stupid question but do the IHC mil trucks have pressurized cooling systems? I assume not but am not really that well versed in the world o cooling systems. . . .

The are low pressure but are pressurized 4psi.
I have a NOS M9 halftrack radiator cap on my M-5H-6 and its marked 4psi part no. IE 1212 it is an Eaton cap also. I am running it because it has the chain/leash. I have seen gas caps on the radiator they do not have the valve in them.

Tony can you please measure the inside of the cap from edge to edge for me.
Can you also take a picture showing the bottom of the new cap and the one you took off.
Dodge and an International sleeping together nothing good can come of that well maybe Mutts.
Looking good Tony

Thanks

Tony,

Based on the last image with the command car it would appear to be incorrect--you can correct this by selling me the command car!
