Any "small spindle" D44 out of a chebbie will work. Look 70's pickups.

Moser Engineering can redrill them for you. They took my 6 lug front rotors to 5 lug on my Luv.

I did this conversion too, and I'm really happy. I have '73 1110 4X4.
I used the conversion kit from Complete Offroad, including the conversion spindles, Chevy backing plate and calipers and Ford rotors. During the conversion, I uprated the inner axle-shafts to use the bigger universal joints, the Travelall uses the smaller type and there are no stub shafts for that. I had to go with custom inner shafts to match the universal joint's size on the stubs (due to Travelall's oddball length from knuckle to pumpkin). I changed over the master cylinder and booster to Chevy, added an adjustable biasing valve and everything's really sweet. I think the difference in slave cylinders (rear) between the '78 Suburban and Travelall was close enough to ignore. This approach is more expensive than used parts and/or axle swap from another brand, but I got to keep the knuckles, axle housing, connecting rods and drag link original. I seem to do everything the most difficult way, that's our family's motto "Semper Modus Dificillus" I'm really happy with the braking power now, I've never been able to "lock-em-up" with the Travelall before. I'm glad that I made this change away from the Lockeed/Keystone style drum brakes! Un-obtainable drums/shoes, continuous leaking, and bad performance. Can post pictures and parts list and photos if interested. |

A part list would be awesome also if you could maybe list a quick rundown of exactly how you did it would be awesome as this is my first time and I am running blind on it. This site is awesome. I think i am also interested in keeping as much as i can original.

I found that conversion kit. I was wondering if you knew what ratio the front and rear axle are?
