I used a set out of a caravan, but had to change the end that screws to the windshild frame.

Paul,
This would be a great topic for you to write up. If possible, I know there are alot of folks that would love to have this info. ![]() Ray

I haven't looked at the sun shades in my Scout in a long time, but recall that the 'cloth' shade part just slips onto the steel rod, as with many older vehicles. I'd suggest that the hardware might be easier cleaned and refinished than replaced, and a newer shade found which fits it. At worst, how hard would it be to make a new shade from scratch? Silkscreen the top side with an old ad from IH, or Warn, or Dana-Spicer to add some uniqueness to it!

FWIW,
Sun visors can be recovered by interior shops, the kind that do headliners and convertible tops etc. Check your Yellow Pages for a local shop. I also see IH sun visors on ebay frequently. My .02

If you're not worried about having the OEM visors, try to find a set from a Jeep CJ/YJ/TJ Wrangler up to about 2005 model year.
They slip slip right over the stock Scout visor arms. No need to remove the arms/brackets from either the donor Jeep or the Scout recipient. Just slide them off and on. If you want new they're around $50/each from the Jeep dealer. I had my choice of several colors from a local salvage yard for $10/pair. Best part is they are actually not as tall as the IH visors and don't block as much of the Scout's already short windshield as the OEM ones do. HTH, Jason

That's what I had planed, but the metal is pretty pitted. I've got an old traveler that I might be able to use the metal parts off of, I'll have to check.
Thanks |
