There was previous drama with the previous owners of this site.... All is well now, we can talk freely. However, Eldon is MIA, AKA, busy with life, as are many of us. So the discussion of one piece hoses is on the back burner. I have experimented with soldering a different outlet on the radiator but I never was able to test it in real life. I am sure an upper radiator hose exists that would work if the hose was the same size on both ends. I have a good enough relationship with my local parts house to go behind the counter and look at pictures and borrow hoses to find one that fits, jut don't have my truck together enough to make it happen. But I think Eldon might still have a couple of these hoses left in his arsenal...

Hmm... well, I have the two-piece upper hose on mine, and one helluva rigged up lower hose. I kinda need to fix it when I get the time to get around to it, but it works for now. Had to re-route it a little when I swapped in the Hydro-boost steering pump. Maybe I'll have to get with some people to find a good one piece upper hose and fix the conglomeration of my lower hose.

My upper radiator hose sprung a leak yesterday, and I'd like to get rid of the original contraption and replace it with a one-piece unit.
Eldon, are you still on the board and do you still have any of the one piece hoses? Anyone else out there found some other hose that can be trimmed to fit? --Paul __________________ 1980 Scout Traveler, SD33-T, T-19, D300, on the road, with restoration proceeding slowly... 1973 1210 Travelall, 392, 727, frost (pea) green, engine fire survivor, sleeping in the barn... |

PAUL,
getting rid of the original cluster is a big improvement and makes the setup much more reliable. still sipping Diesel but not able to participate in the forum very often. Still have a supply of the single piece hose available. Drop me an email EldonMcf@aol.com or call 402-512-FUEL (3835) As far as any other hose goes, this is pretty extreme going from the dinky size on the thermostat outlet to the size on the radiator. the only thing that is even close is a universal hose with a reducer bushing which is about as bad, or worse than the original mess.
