I am not aware of any, but I been sleeping for years. Are you sure you are not confusing the original molded hose that looks similar to the single piece, but has a smaller ID on the radiator end, and a shorter length? You are correct there was a big fiasco in the dieselTalk forum at the Binder Bulletin dot org website before it was heisted by thieves. there were some threads on the subject, but they were removed by the dick-tater. Here is one that survived missing a few pics: http://www.binderplanet.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=63637 Here is another remnant of the original, also with pics missing: http://www.binderplanet.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=86326 and the classified with dead links: http://www.binderplanet.com/forums/v...p?do=ad&id=775

I think people get the one piece hose mixed up with the stock two piece upper hose. I was looking at IH Only North the other day quickly and at first glance I thought they were selling the hose that Eldon took the time to develop for the Scout SD33's, but they have the old version. http://www.shopih.com/SII-DIESEL-RAD-HOSE-p-DI.html I personnel think the one piece unit would be the best fix to the stock mess of a upper radiator hose which kind of belongs in the engineering dept IMHO. thanks for the offer Carey. The problem is a little more complicated however. Most of the pics used in those post's were hosted on my personal webspace on AOL. AOL shut down the hosting ( without any notice BTW) so to fix the problem I have to go back and try to dig up the original pics, upload them, and go back and redo the links in each post. Kinda time consuming. I been working on fixing these up when I get round-tuit. it will take some time to get everything in the archive fixed up, some of the old stuff may not even get done. I repaired the following threads which have most of the pertinent info for the single piece hose. http://www.binderplanet.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=86326 http://www.binderplanet.com/forums/s...485#post388485 Quote:
They do look similar at first glance. I have mentioned the upgrade to John Glancy. I'm sure he would be interested in adding it to the distribution at SLL. It is not so easy as I am sure they have stock to use up, plus then do you offer both hoses for the folks that just want to replace the stock one, or just the one. plus the cost of the setup to make it ETC. The best thing to do is to let your favorite SLL dealer know you are interested so they know there will be a market for the new part. Quote:
The only SWAG I can come up with is the original hose was allready in the parts system at IH so they used the adapter to make it work on the scout. It doesn't really follow the logic the designers and engineers at IH used most of the time. One never knows just exactly what all the factors involved with the original decision to use the Mickey Mouse setup in the first place.

They do look similar from a distance. The major difference is the ID of the end that goes on the radiator, and the length. the bends are also slightly different

Do these still exist and are they available? And can anyone talk about them, or are they "unmentionable"?

I have not seen any posts from Eldon in a long time, but I would bet he is still around. Eldon is a great SD33 source of knowledge and some SD33 products such as the one piece hose.

I got one from Eldon years ago when he first had them for sale. I don't think that they are "unmentionable" but might be made of "unobtainium".
