Can't seem to get the photo to show up when viewing the thread without logging in.

Is that a review thing for new posts that will change once reviewed? If not, how do I correct that?

Like many users, I only login when I plan to post.

That is a security feature. We use that so images can't be borrowed to other sites so easily.

We also watermark all images here so if they turn up somewhere else somehow folks know where it came from.

Don't know how to respond to that Hoss Many here seem to like their Edelbrocks. I'm just working with what came with the truck. It ran great driving it home, but was running rich, so I've leaned it out a bit. If I was going to put out any money it would be for a Fuel Injection system hands down. They eliminate the altitude and angle issues.

Don't know anyone personally that run the Holley Avenger, but I have heard good things about it. What vehicle and engine are you running it on? Did you have to change anything from it's out-of-the-box settings for your application and location?

Lee, Glad to see some progress on this.

Since this thread started I leaned down the 1405, then traded for a Quadrajet, then picked up a CARTER 500 CFM and rebuilt it. Much better now.

Nope, still no AF from the Claus!!

I was wondering if it was look'n pretty "stoichy" in AZ these days?

(Guess you have to be a Bigfoot Hunter fan to get that one, "Look'n pretty Squatchy around here" and "There's nothin' like the smell of Squatch in the morning" )

My 770 is in my 1977 K5, the first engine i put it on was a 353 sbc and it did ok, needed to be tuned a little better. Then i put it on my 468 bbc and it worked great. The problem i had w/ the edelbrock is that it cut out of hills and when i got into the gas real hard.

The Offroad Needle and Seat on my EB1405 never tuckered on me and I am not one to go lightly...

Funny thing happened after installing the off-road float shut-off valves and leaner needles...

NO MORE PUFF OF SMOKE AT STARTUP! Or gassy smelling exhaust.

Yup, I don't know if it is lean with the needle changes yet, because I haven't tuned it, but the gassy smell when running is gone.

The "puff of smoke" at startup is gone as well. I'm guessing not all "puff of smoke" at startup issues are valve guide seals. I didn't want to breakdown my heads, so when I cleaned up my good running engine I left the manifold and heads alone. My case may have been leaky float shut-off valves. The only thing that comes to mind is that the new off-rod float shut-off valves seal better.

Anyway, happy with the changes so far. I'll know more when the rig is driveable and tuned properly...
