Default Anyone interested in a wheeling trip?

I thought I'd see if any of you were interested in making a wheeling trip in the Fall? I've been busy for about a year building my house and getting that wrapped up and ready to plan a trip. I've mostly hung with the North Houston chapter of TX4WD, it's a family oriented group that likes to wheel. We have runs scheduled in the fall if anyone is interested in tagging along. I like to run easier trails than most of the group and not have too much body damage on the Scout so don't worry about keeping up.

September: Trees Ranch Labor Day run
October: Fall Run to Gilmer

So who's going to be ready to wheel this fall?

Just to get you interested here are the albums from our trips.

I've got one more gallery to find from Hot Springs.

Stan, Great photo gallery! You and Dad sure seem to know how to enjoy your rides. My Scout II is still a work in progress, and though I couldn't follow the two of you everywhere, I'd sure like to tag along one day. Thanks for sharing the trips, they are inspiring for those of us who still trudge along at a snail's pace on a shoestring budget trying get our steel on the road.
Hat's off to you and Dad for sharing and keep the pics coming.

Thanks for the kind words and your welcome to tag along when you get rolling. If you are interested in running trails you can go a long way with FI and lockers. I was on the fence about FI till I rolled backwards down a steep hill at Gilmer after the floats shutoff on the carb and the engine died. I couldn't stop it when the power brakes failed so I went to hydroboost too.

Good luck with the build and I know it takes a while, I spent about 3 years building my orange scout.

It will be nice having more old iron on the trails, everyone else I wheel with have newer jeeps. We'll help you find your weak points and get you addicted to wheeling, but we're not into tearing stuff up

Since my goal is to make the trip to Nationals this year - with my Scout - I should be ready to go to Gilmer in the fall. One more Scout outing to help shoot for to get me motivated to get the Scout done.

Gilmer sounds good, I took the 80 there a few years ago and it was great. I need to take Duce and try some real trails.
