Davis,
Tried to PM you just now but it wouldn't go through cause "you've exceeded your allowed storage." Tisk, tisk.

I decided to finally start my own build thread today.
Good thing your Build's title isn't copyrighted. I'd be close to infringement. Sorry about that man. If its a problem let me know.
Ben

Ya...Ziggy and Tres had filled my inbox full of PMs about pattymelts and moonpies. Try again if you need to.

I think its awesome you started a build thread! I see now mention of the words Goldmember, Goldie, or banjos...so you should be clear of any copyright infringements.

I need a latch for an 800A/B travel top passenger side sliding window. Please PM me if you have one.

Your mail is most likely clogged by patty melt grease and moon pie filling.

Now I HAVE to find a way to use the word Goldmember in my build thread!
Thanks Davis!

And if yall 2 werent enough...the wife asked last night "are you done with the scout yet?" Its getting tougher and tougher on time. I didnt figure in on football season starting on my initial time estimate. With both my boys preparing...time has been small.

I did get the other side of the exhaust mostly run. I just need to add the crossover pipe and the tips. The tips I ordered didnt look right! I ordered some differrent ones today.

And my upholstery guy said the dash pad is ready and looks awesome. I may be able to have that in my possession tomorrow. So the interior should be ready to start going in. I still dont have the visors done. He said his sowing foot isnt wide enough and he cant find anybody whos is. I dont know what that really means other than I'm screwed for the moment.

PS: I sure did put alot of in this post. Maybe its the season.

I stopped by to see Goldi today and brought her flowers, she sure is looking good even with that big ol nightgown on. Of course Wang was there *****in as usual but about his exhaust tips and visors this time. Spent some good time talking shop and looking over the great work being done. I think Wang only has two or three things left to be done for Nationals, of course I am counting all of the interior as one thing.
I did have a small part delivery as well but scored an engine gasket kit that I can use on my 196 rebuild, thanks again amigo.

Truck is looking great, keep up the great job!

Okay Davis, you've had four "nag-free" days and your captive audience awaits. How goes the battle with the exhaust tips and interior? Wiring? Also, I am ready to do my exhaust and contemplating a do-it-yourself kit versus local shop. I will get the local shop pricing this weekend for comparison. Curious how big a PIA it was. Your thoughts? (48 & a wake-up).

LOL...I can always count on you keeping me goin Sully! Ive been draggin this week...Ziggybock kinda wore me out on Monday. During his visit, I was wanting to get some scout talk in and get motivated...but all he wanted to do was talk about how he missed Tres, how it had been soooooo long since he had gotten to talk to him, and all about how much fun they were going to have this weekend together. Ugh.

The new exhaust tips are in. I mocked one up yesterday to see what I thought. Much better IMO. I plan on finishing the exhaust up tomorrow...so I'll post some pics then.

The DIY kit wasnt bad at all IMO. The only thing that was kind of a pita, was making holes in the stainless for my evac nipple and crossover pipe. Cutting stainless with a torch is a little tricky.

I would think a muffler shop could do a system cheaper, but I dont know if I could have gotten a full stainless mandrel bent system with a cross-pipe for the same money I paid. Here's what I have in mine so you can compare:

SS Flowmaster pipe kit = $250
SS Tips = $70
SS Used Hushpower mufflers = $50
SS Pypes hangers and clamps = $75
Total= $445
