Default Hill Country binders we need your help

OK with the PE exam behind me it's time to get the scout back in action. Erin moved into a house with a two car garage, so project on... We are in need of another trans (727) rebuild. I was talking to Bob this morning and he mentioned David Oldham may be the man for the job. David let me know if you are interested in building one for Erin and me. Send me an P.message and we'll work out the $ and logistics. And then there is our favorite Kim Duren, where did you have yours rebuilt and how is it working for ya? Any other suggestion are applauded.

Kim had a rebuilder in Austin that did the stock build for $400.00-$500.00 seems like. I think he did a good job for cheap and was quick.

Dude... Did you pass the PE? I hope so. I just found out that I passed the PE exam on Dec. 21.

Folks who have not gone through that torture... application, signatures, anal exam of work experience, expense, study material purchase, .... not to mention study, stress, worry and the oral surgery of the exam... have no Idea!!

It is like the weight of a mountian off your heart and soul. I am giddy like school girl. I have been happily doing what I want to do... no guilty that I am not studying...

Since Dec 21, I have pulled 4wd axle, t-case, motor from parts truck, ... torn down said motor and cleaned my house...

PE License... approx. $12,000 in materials and lost wages
Relief on passage... priceless.

His prices are high now and they started out even higher, $2000 IIRC.

However, if you decide to check this out give me a call as it's in my neck of the woods, and I can give you a hand.

Professional Engineer License.
To get licensed, you have graduate with a Engineering degree, take 8 hour test to become an Engineering-In-Training, work for 4 years for an engineer who will endorse you, hope that the state board will approve your experience, study, worry, spend a cash, take yet another 8 hour test, and..... finally pass and get the license. Then update it every two years.

Purpose??? twofold -- Stated purpose: Make sure that engineers are "qualified" to practice.

Secondary (maybe real) purpose: Reduce competition, raise wages for engineers and allow the government to control yet another profession.

And NO these kind of engineers do not drive trains with stripped hats and pull steam whistle (toot..Toot)
Supposedly we design stuff, make sure stuff works, make sure stuff is built as designed, figure out stuff..... and Stuff.

(sorry for the long answer and screwing with the thread)

Congrats! on the results and happy Scouting.

Ok, back on topic. If you need a 727 transmission to rebuild and find your self in the North Texas area, I can probably help you out. We have a few laying around the farm.
