Default Newbie needs help with tuning

Hey all, very new to tuning. I am a 10 ase master tech and never really needed to know how to tune. I got a kit installed from customefis (another issue in itself). I have collected all blm table data, sensor data and all. I sent it to customefis and havent heard from him in almost 2 months. I need to get this project done soon, and cant depend on this guy anymore. I really have enjoyed and learned alot from reading some threads in here and am actually excited to learn how to write my own programs. I have a laptop with winaldl, a modis scanner, aldl cable, burner from moates. seems like I have everything but the know-how. I have read bill usa's how to read and write/burn thread but Im not sure how to get my data to aldltobin. Im going off the link from that thread. My rig runs good, but I know its not as good as it can. Any help would be appreciated more than you know. All this time and money spent, I cant rely on Customefis to help me.

guess I could be more specific. The kit is a gm tbi, using a 1227747 ecm. which seems to be common. Thanks again to any help

Welcome.
You can start by posting your logs.
Hopefully you have read enough to know which data to log and what tables to save.

If you haven't done the initial set up procedures yet then do those first.

Then list all the specs of your system and motor.
Sensors used, inj's...etc.

And if you haven't done a search for aldltobin yet...you may want to read some of those also.
Several basic tuning threads here.

Thanks for the reply. I am trying to tune a Toyota 2f in a 84 landcruiser.(I hope you can look past that ) It is a 4.2 L6, desmogged, header, no vss nor knock sensor. Stock cam. It runs map, tps, ect. No A/C. Base timing at 8 degrees btdc. Not sure which injector is the number you need, but here is both GM 7022, and Gm5235203*rpd. Here are the tables I got for Customefis. Oh gee, I cant post attachment yet, figures. Any ideas?

OK so it's the 4.3 system on an inline. Basically the same conversion for the 232/258.

You can send the files to me directly. Email should be in my profile.

Got the files...
You need to log data again.

Make sure you perform the initial setup procedures first.
Then disconnect the bat to clear all codes.
You have an EST and a Prom error set right now.

The engine appeared to run fine tho a little lean on fuel.

Make sure in datalogger that you check each box except the raw data. You only had sensors and malf checked.

Start data log prior to starting engine.
Log for at least 30min-1hr in a variety of areas like local to highway.

Also...do not save a file after viewing it. Keep the original intact.
If you look at a text file, do not save when done. The program you viewed it with, changed it and I had to manually fix each entry.....takes a while!!

If the fuel ends up still lean, you may want to review the fuel pressure regulator FAQ. You can bump the pressure up a couple pounds and then recheck the BLM's.

Ok, I reinitialized my set up, timing was correct at 8btdc, recal iac, tps good. I then bumped up my fp from 11psi to 13psi. I still cant post attatchments yet so Ill email them again, thanks for the help. I think I double clicked stop on the datalogger so there is probably an extra file. possibly an extra blm too. What a great site you fellas have. Ive learned a ton just cruising around.
