Default Cylinder head guide pins

After two years of waiting I am finally putting the 304 from my 1970 800A back together and I can't find 3 of the 4 cylinder head guide pins.

Any ideas? I'm thinking of making my own. Does anyone have any spares?

Thanks,

Ernie

They are still available through International dealers, that is where i got mine from. I know the number is on this site somewhere because that is where i got it. If you can not find it, i will post up when i get home tonight.

If you can not wait that long, the guys at SSS would have the part number if not the part itself.

Yeah, I called SSS and IH wants ~$17 for each!

Part number 455475C1

That's a lot to stomach!

Yeah that sounds about right. I think i paid 15.00 for mine.

If you could find the right sized steel tubing i would not think that they would be that hard to make yourself....

In my case, i did not have any of them and had no idea what they looked like.

Another option would be to call Phil Coonrod he probably has them laying around. I have used him for individual pushrods and odd and end things in the past.

I needed one in the middle of the night and lucked out with a piece of copper tubing.
It was the perfect OD. Just cut to length, beveled the ends, and dropped it in!!

Nope.
Probably 1/2" or 3/4"

You coud just use a ruller and measure the hole then go to the hardware store and measure the copper nipples in the bins.
It should be pretty obvious.
