Default Guess Who's Got DATA!!!

ME, 1.62megs of it. I logged data all day on Saturday and got you more data then you can shake a stick at. It's a compliation of everything. Some crawling, mostly trail riding and a few 2-hi flat out runs on gravel roads, so it should cover the gamet.

After resetting the IAC and lowering the idel from about 950 to 650 on the 13th (when the pics were taken), the truck has a very hard time idling when cold. Initially it didn't want to idle at all, until it hit about 180. But by the end of the weekend it would idle at 130 okay, not consistantly, but enough where I didn't have to sit in it with my foot on the throttle. Also, I think the idle is a little low. When in low gear while crawling it would die. I'd get it started again, bump it into gear on idle and it would die. I wonder if it has to do with the full manual valve body and tight transmission locking rigth off the get go. Anyhow I won't touch it until someone tells me too.

One last thing, I still have a shim in my fuel pressure regulator. If you remember it is different then everyone's. I was getting consistantly way rich data. Chris suggested pulling it out, but I didn't want it to screw with the data set, so I left it in.

So, how do you want the data? I figured I'd just ZIP all the files and post it here for download or email it. Let me know, I'll take it to work with me and send it off tomorrow.

Thank again, both Chris for the loaning of the computer and Bill, so I have someone to send all these funny numbers too!

That's great Carl.
You have a choice.
We either make the adjustments to the current set up or you remove the shim and lean it out a little .
You will need to make the change prior to the next log run..
Note I said next run.....

There will be more so don't get too comfortable.

Just zip the files and email them to me.
I can edit and post what we need here.
My email should be in my profile.

Amazingly my dinosaur computer worked all weekend for Carl. We had it stuffed in a back pack - stuffed in a trash bag - and double bungy corded to the passenger seat. It was sweet!

And it really was cool how it just ran better and better all weekend - except the idle/stall problem seemed to get worse and worse....

Even the idle would have probably gotten better if someone removed the FPR shim!!!

Carl,
Can you see if there is a label on the top of that chip?

Do you have anyone out there that can burn a chip yet?
That chip doesn't match the primary file i have for you. I'm thinking that was the back up chip.

Measure your fuel pressure and then pull the shim out and measure again.
Make sure you have at least 13psi when back together.

The data doesn't look bad except the fuel is rich and it looks like you have a battery issue or an alt problem.
This will contribute to a bad idle.

Your TPS is also too low.
You are set at -3.6%

Your temp goes from 160 to over 200°
I assume you are on an electric fan?

I'll take these for Carl...

He probably was asking too much from his alt. when he ran the fan, lights, inverter he ran out of juice.

When we set the idle speed - I watched the TPS go negative and I knew you'd call us on it. But I wasn't going to screw with it right before the trip as we didn't have a spare. And everything was working so good...

Electric fan - manually regulated/operated by a toggle switch.
