Unhappy Upper Ball Joints

The upper ball joint for the 1970 1000 is not listed in any of the books that NAPA has. The closest I could get was 1971 and that showed NAPA part number 260-1048.

Hope this helps a bit... otherwise, call Ken Young at Old IHC Parts in Houston.

Whether you are in Canada or not, they can still order it for you. There are many distribution centers here in the US where they should be able to get it. I did not check with any of them to find out where they could find it though.

I was perusing an old Moog catalog late last night. They showed the 61-75 as having FA-8 and FA-9 Axles. This used a different part number than the FA-5 axle that I had originally given you the part number for. Moogs number for this is K3084. Better check to see which axle you have...

Just for anyone else looking for info on the '61 - '73 FA8/FA9 front axle, 100/1000/1010 series 1/2 ton IFS torsion bar trucks, steering and front suspension parts, and finding this old thread, here is a link to FA8/FA9 parts sources,

Here is a link to FA8/FA9 part numbers,
