So Dan,
Do you want an 80 door or an 800? I'm pretty sure the striker plate doesn't interchange, so if you mix and match try to get the striker plate. |

Dan, I'm interested in that D44 if the PowerLock's working.
Hey, you livin' in my old hometown! Are any of the mills still going? If I remember right, there was one on the outskirts of each of the four roads outta town. I grew up in a shotgun shack six miles out Wilhoit Road ... Mom and Dad got it for $8k in '71, on 5 acres ... sold about 10 years ago for $269,000, somebody finished the house my dad started building there. Probly worth $500k today. Shee-yot! Anyway, if you still got the D44 and the lockers still work, it'll be a great excuse for a tour of the old stomping grounds. Although I hear they're completely different now, like Lake Oswego Lite. Hell, when I was there, I collected bottle caps -- 10 Olympia/Hamms/Blitz for every 1 of anything else -- every other car that drove by was a Chevy 4x4 riding on 36-inch meats -- from everywhere you stood in town at 8 a.m. you could hear at least one mill -- the siren at City Hall howled every day at noon -- yup, a great town. I'm skeered to come back, I like the one in my head a helluva lot better than the one I think is probly there now. Cutters still got the pharmacy? Blackman's Corner still killin people? The White Horse still showin' its balls off to everybody on the main drag? How bout The Spot, is it still there? Aw hell, I'm gonna have to come visit the old place ... --Finn p.s. dan, one other thang ... I live in Springfield, which is very close to Eujersey -- er, Eugene -- home of Mr. Scout. I could get you a door from him if you need one bad enough to pay retail, and we could meet up and trade parts. Lemme know. --Finnzo

Scott- I need an 80 door. I'm afraid the giant philips head screws are rusted in. I already had to drill out a few of the screws on the hinge.
Finn- I was born in a barn outside of Dickey Prairie. I think Molalla will always be part of me, even when im not there. RSG makes 2x4's now, Avison is a parking lot for Molalla ready mix now, the mill going to Colton has changed hands half a dozen times in 20 years. They make 2x4's too. They put in a safeway across from blackmans. Big burger is still kicking. Molallas 1st stop light went in last month at blackmans 4 way. White Horse has turned into a 20 something bar with (c)rap pumping out the door every friday and saturday. Its funny watching old cowboys that havent been to the horse in 10 years, walk in, look around, crinkle thier face up, and walk out shaking thier heads. Spot turned into the long branch and the sundowner is still there. The rodeo sure brings in the crowds still. I think thats half of what makes Molalla what it is. As for the rear end... the PL is a little sloppy but i have a brand new, still in the box Power lock rebuild kit for it that i'll throw in if you want. All the parts are in Newburg. Thats where im doing my fab work now. Let me know. Thanks

Sounds great, man. Drop me a line at finnster_j@yahoo.com and I'll figure out when I can carve out an afternoon to come by.
Man, I forgot about that rodeo. That's what was really different about that town, all the 4x4 Chevies had lariats hangin' on the gun racks! RSG, are they the outfit on Wilhoit Road by where the logging road crosses it? I was 12 when the family left town, so there's a lot of stuff that's still pretty fuzzy. Cheers! --Finn
