Anyhow , I re-assembled all of the lines and put 1 1/2 gallons of gas in passenger tank and then drove the Scout around and then switched to the passenger tank and yes it was not still feeding fuel from this tank because the Scout died. Can anyone please help? I do not know what to do next and am new to this sort of problem. |

If you are running a mechanical pump it could be sucking air thru the orings in the changover valve. It is an easy fix, just take it off, clean it up and replace the orings with GOOD nitril ones rubber ones do not last very long since the gas will attack them.

I'd take a good look at your switch. I found one at a tractor supply that was an exact fit for $20. If the internals go on the old ones just replace it.
If your switch is good than look at your pickup inside the tank. The old Scouts have a pickup tube that drops down from the top inside the tank. That tube also has/had a filter on it that can clog. |

If you're gettning air into the fuel line you can readily tell if it's getting into the fuel tank. Have somebody stand beside the truck with the filler cap off and listen. You can very readily hear bubbling. I put only about 20 psi of pressure into my line a month ago, and just about gagged my son who had his face too close to the filler.
I suspect your pickup tube is clogged, or the line, or both. Blow them out. Foy Quote:
