Default Chiva Falls trip report

This trip report courtesy of Eric J from Tucson

A couple of guys from work were interested in running, so I set up a trip to Chiva Falls. We met up at 08:30 on Reddington Rd. Circle K. The weakest rig was a jeep, with 29" tires, a four cylinder, and a 2" spring lift with open spiders. Martin is just learning to find his lines, so it was a challenge.

We got into the falls about 11:00. Down to the rock, past Chiva tank, over the creek, up the ridge and then down to the falls. Martin got hung up at the creek, but found an alternative crossing. Had to pick his way up the ridge. Everyone enjoyed the waterfall.

On the return, we needed the winch, only because the best lines were not held to. Again, wheel'n is a learning experience. I backed half way down, and then hooked Martin to my rear tow hooks. Kinda a funny feeling as my back end was kinda sucked over, but we got him up, and then out of the falls. Ran back to the rock, and everyone found a good line up and out.

Sounds like a class 2.x run, something like 2.5 - ya know, need a little bit of lift, but with good lines open spiders will do: a Lonnie type of rig. so ... most of the club members could do this. Maybe we could all get some winch practice in.
