Default Stupid muffler question

Ordering a new muffler, and my '79 Scout II is at home, so I can't run out and check. The configuration on a stock Scout II exhaust system, does it call for an offset inlet or offset outlet, or both, or center, or what? Having a brain freeze here and can't remember.

Thanks for the help.

Pretty sure it is an offset inlet center outlet, at least that is what I have on both of mine....

Rob,

My 78 345 SII has dual exhaust with center inlets and offset outlets. Now your 79 originally had a "cat" so it wasn't a full dual exhaust and I suspect it didn't originally have dual mufflers. Prior to 79 SII's didn't have "cats".

OK, so which "stock Scout II" configuration do you want to know about? There could be a difference between 79 & 80 and the previous years.

Thanks for the info guys. Doug, my '79 has a "catless" single exhaust. Looks as though the previous owner "streamlined" the exhaust system. Anyway I went with the offset inlet to center outlet, so we'll see how it goes. Thanks again.
