Default Question for any CVI or Goodtimes Van package Scouts

I'm looking at buying one and want to make sure it is what it is reported to be. The Scout is a 1979 and has a tag in the drives door jamb that says the date the vehicle was modified/completed and has a serial number that reads "79GTIH040" . Does this info corespond with anyone else out there? The owner is gonna send me a photo of the sticker this weekend, I just wanted to some homework ahead of time.

Default CVI info

if i remember i'll snap a shot of the tag on mine. it should be in the drivers side doorjam below the striker bolt.

the label will say "custom vehicles incorporated" with some other info on it.

i've got a 79 CVI but it didnt have anything too special. its orange with the long gold decal with "scout" cut out at the rear of it towards the back of the truck, SSII grill, gold wagon wheels like on the SSII's, black SS stripes on the hood, and 3.2 liter under the IH emblem on the front fenders.

i take it you havent had any pics sent to you?

email me at ihcgearhead@yahoo.com and i'll send you some pics of the tag and of my truck.

Brian

I've seen pics of the interior and exterior of the truck I'm looking at, they just don't show the Modifier's Cerification Tag.

My Midas Package Traveler has a certification tag in the drivers door jamb, but not being famillure with CVI modified trucks, I just wanted to research all the details ahead of time.

Thanks,
Lon
