Default (Experts only) Help identify this stuff!

Hey guys,

Imma need your expertise on this one.

I recently aquired a new scout to add to my fledling fleet!!! You know this stuff really does get in your veins. I was surfing craigslist for internationals like any good binder man should, when I came across an add that said only "International". Of course this would pique my interest, so I bit and opened up the page. When the page opened a small picture of what appeared to be a 73-74 Scout II. Now I drive a 75 and was looking for a parts vehicle to make things easier on me. Downside of the picture is that it was obviously missing the engine front grill and what looked to be many other things. Only plus side was that the add said $250! So I say to myself what the hell and give the guy a call. He says yeah it's been sitting here for awhile and I don't really have the time cause I work on SBC's. So I get the guys address and drive out there to have a look at it. When I get out there I realize that the Scout has all the missing parts that belong to it in the back of the rig. Motor had been dismantled for a rebuild but as he said he got bored of it so he just put it in the bed. I check the usual rust spots on scouts, and to my surprise, much much less rust than what is on my daily driver now!... heart starts beating faster ... I continue looking it over and see that it indeed has the D20 that I was looking for, the original 4spd(yet to figure out what kind) and what looks to be a brand new axle sitting under the front of the Scout! I'll need your help to identify what kind when I get some more pics posted. Also of note, there just so happens to be a 4" skyjacker lift kit installed as well on this vehicle. When I get more pics up and get it to my house you'll have to let me know what I got here. (other than a good deal)

You specified only experts!!!
we are enthusiasts!
I doubt anyone considers themselves as experts.

You also did not include any new pics.

What do you need help ID'ing? I looked at the picture, I read the post and you said you're going to be posting more pictures. You never ask what needs to be ID'ed or provide pictures of it/them. Sorry, just a bit confused on how we are suppose to help.

From the picture an axle that has been sitting open and has rusted is far from being "new" and at the very least is going to need all new bearings, which means as much work as installing gear into an old axle.

Sorry can't seem to upload photos right now... As far as the new axle goes, its newer than a 40yr old scout II axle so to me its new, and as far as experts, ya'll are experts compared to my limited knowledge base. Will try to get some pics posted from a different phone.

I just took offense to the "guys" comment. You know there are women on here that know just as much and if not more than some. I got my knowledge by reading, reading and reading more.
