Alright gents,
I've been looking over harnesses and found several under 200 bones. Aside from Levi's experience with the 14 circuit quick wire, has anyone tried these out:

Keep it Clean PROCOMP12 $199 web special
http://www.keepitcleanwiring.com/pro...its/index3.php

Northwest Autowire Universal 12 circuit $99.95
http://www.nwautowire.com/servlet/th...jeep-14/Detail

Kwik Wire 14 Circuit Harness $265
http://www.kwikwire.com/wh_14Circuit...rodwiring.html

EZ wire Standard 12 $170
http://www.ezwiring.com/wiring_harness.html

The only things I have to add are a cig lighter, switch for elec fan, and a CB. Trailer wiring as well.

Thanks,
Blake

We have used the American Autowire Highway kits on all of our projects. They are really nice. My truck will get one as well when the day comes. They are a little more expensive but if you shop around, you can find it a little cheaper than on their website.

Sent you a PM back about mine and NWautowire customer service has always been great from my experience they would always respond quickly to my questions. If you want to add a fuse block they sell additional series of fuse blocks which come in 3's in case you need to add to it.

Alright Gents,
I am about to dive into putting a new harness in my 63 Scout 80 following kbsforme's Project Sparky thread. I'm tired of reading through it night after night.

Thus far the bill for this is:
NW Harness from Spence minus rear harness $100
NW Harness rear $74.95 (NW autowire gives discount to military, firemen, ems, and police)
Dorman double contact pigtails X 4 $11.96
Heat Shrink $9.99
Soldering Iron, Flux and solder $19.99
Headlight Switch PN 85989 $4.99
90 degree sending unit X 2 $17.98
Total $239.86

My goal is to keep it under 300 bones with as many new items as possible.

Still need:
Indicator lights PN: 84911, 84910, 84913 They don't carry them at Autozone around here.
Assorted Grommets
Ground Straps
1/2 and 3/8 inch loom
New neg cable
Dash screws x 2

Today I'll tear down as much as I can before the rain.

Stay tuned...don't think I've forgotten about the EFI conversion either.

Default update

Well....
I have torn down as much as I could before the army sent me away. I hope to get this wiring job done before the weather turns cold.

Default time to get to work

Well gents, it's good to be home in time for the holidays. I hope I can get some time to dig into this old gal and get her running again. Hopefully I can get everything tore down before Christmas and get the new harness installed after the holidays.

Default Nothing like a rat's nest and a bucket of rust

Well, I got started today....a few hours at least. Nothing beats cutting out this mess of wire nuts and crap leading to who knows where.

Question: Anyone ever started a project and thought to yourselves, "Self, the whole body is nothing but rust and bondo. Why the heck am I doing (fill in the blank).?"

My rear corner panels are rusted out worse then I thought. Anyways, I hope to finally be able to get down to a meet and greet in January.
Blake

P.S. I had some problems uploading pictures in the past, please let me know if anyone has luck viewing the mess.

Default more rust but less rat nest

Here's a few more photos of today's work. Found out my windshield doesn't want to fold down and is pretty rotted out on the passenger side. I've read a bit on ways to loosen it up. Will put the heat to it tomorrow.

Hoping to get the dash out tomorrow and finish pulling all the old rotted mess out.

Any thoughts on doing the metal work before completing the rewire? I can pay to use the shop on post.

I'll post up tomorrow a shot of the body lift on this thing. The PO used square 2" pipe, makes for a rough ride. I'm not sure if I can reverse this due to the motor upgrade and exhaust running between the body and frame.
