Friday I started working on scout oil pumps. I didn't know that they were no longer readily available so... I grabbed up all my cores, bought a rebuild kit (80 bucks!), beer, and headed over to my friends Alex and Dave Pluebell's engine rebuild shop. The first one went a little slow but they got vatted then blasted with sugar sand so they look great. The next step is to bring a scout over so we can figure out exactly how much adjustment to add to the by pass spring. Even with the new spring supplied with the sealed power rebuild kit there is not enough pressure on the by pass. No wonder we always have such poor oil pressure. Good news is I will have some for sale very soon. I should also mention how humbling it was spreading my scout stuff out on an assembly table shared with a 1957 283 fuelie on one side and two 277 desoto hemis on the other. Behind me was a 221 flathead and further over a 455 pontiac. On the floor waiting were assorted cool engines. That was Friday, Saturday I drove out to see David Hardy and his Uncles! They could probably charge admission. Between them they have three restored Terras, four restored Scout IIs, two restored 800s plus one incredible original 800, and I seriously lost count of all of the other trucks. I took a rebuilt engine out to Jerry and brought home a chassis to use for my terra project. I spent the whole day and got to drive a cool scout around plus dinner with some great scout guys too!! I got so overwhelmed that I didn't get pictures of all the trucks!! Now back to reality...

enjoyed having you down Mike. We had a great time also. You are welcome anytime. I wish I had time to restore that 73 short wide 4x4 black pickup. We like to talk IH . Wish everyone could come down some Saturday . David

You showed amazing restraint having a car hauler behind you around all that IH metal, and only coming home with a frame.
I know several other friends of yours who wouldn't fare so well, (LOL)!
