Default Dual Rear Rims - Single Piece

Long story short, I'm not looking to kill anyone - these 2 piece rims have to go. I'm looking to see if anyone knows where I might be able to snag a direct swap for my 67 1300.

Any ideas? I BELIEVE they are 6 x 5.5?

I have never seen 6 x 5.5.
A 67 1300 should have 8 bolt rims. IH Ford, dodge rims will fit. Chev will not.

Nothing wrong with Lock ring rims.. They were the standard of the industry for years and they can be mounted safely if the shop knows what they are doing. They are erroneously called "split rims"; that said, I don't use them anymore on my 67 1300 because it gets a fair amount of miles on it and finding a shop that will repair lock ring rims is not always easy. My 68 CO Loadstar has them yet but shops that handle the big truck tires can always handle them.

They should be 6 lug,Doc is probably mixing trucks up.I dont know of any 16 inch wheels that are solid, there where some 19 and maybe 17 that fit.

Several things:

Doc is right about lock ring rims. They pose no particular hazard to anyone that understands the mechanism. Unfortunately, over the years they have become confused with actual 'split rims' that just should not be in service any more. Compounding the mythic status is the fact that tire busters aren't exactly top of the automotive service food chain. I can say that 'cause I *was* a tire buster for a couple of years. The lock ring system is dead simple, but when corners are cut(bent/cut lock rings, rusted up ring grooves, etc.) things can go wrong. Operator error can kill you, eh? Not at all the fault of the wheel, and the lock ring rims that IH used are exceptional in their strength/precision. And their weight!

Jeff is right about there being a number of cataloged sizes for 6 lug, dually offset, non-lock ring wheels. They are usually '__.5' sizes, 5° bead seat. Good luck finding a set, and expect to find a very limited selection of tires in current manufacture.

Your original rear axle, if present is an RA-15(most likely) or Dana 70. If 6 lug, either one can accept 8 lug hubs from a later axle, in which case Doc's wheel choice is accurate.

Okay so I can buy hubs from a different year that are 8 lug and they should work? What about 8 lug adapters?

Just to add to this, lock ring rims can still be had new, at least last summer you could still buy them at RV shops.

Yes, later RA-15's used 8 lug hubs which should be a direct interchange. I have no knowledge of adapters, you're likely talking custom.

It's 2wd does that effect it? Also I'm not sure how to go about changing it or what year I need to find a 8 lug...any chance you can lend a helping hand on that?
IH changed from 6 to 8 lug on the RA-15 for the C to D line transition('69 'model year'). I do not believe that the spindle dimensions were changed or the brake backing plate bolt pattern. 6 lug hub off, 8 lug hub on, brake parts as necessary if there's a change in drum width(2.5" vs 3").

Of course that basically means you need a newer RA-15 donor....

I guess I'm still a little confused with how that works... so I have to swap the whole rear end? I can't just have something easy? lol
