I would love to, but I have my assignment for that weekend already. I have to get the hay equipment back up and ready to bale 30 to 40 acres of straw. And that is pretty much my only free weekend before it will be time.

You guys are more than welcome to have a get together a few weeks later in KY and help us haul it in.

Hey, (no pun intended)

I would be up for a get together in KY. One of our goals is to have a different member host each time, so that it is fair and driveable for all. Besides, it wouldn't be the first time that I have put up hay, although I must admit it has been at least since 1978, and another life ago

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll have most of it sold in the field. If not, well it is going to be a kind of long Saturday. Dad and I have put up close to 1200 bales in a day by ourselves, but I was 20 and he was 45 and that was 15 years ago. So if I can get half of it sold in the field Friday and Saturday, that should only leave about 1000 to bring in, and surely with Kim and Mom helping we can make it.

Give me another month of so to get a little bit more done on the farm, and I would probably be up for hosting something in Muhlenberg Co., KY. I have a fairly decent shop and a house we can use. Plus we have a pretty big parking area.

I'll do my best to make it happen.

If anything, we have plenty of nice shady places to sit and relax.

I've always loved the names of the counties in western KY or even southern IN.

Muellenburg, McCracken, Crittenden,
And the dismall hole in the rock, Vanderburgh! (my home town)

There's many more, but that's been 20+ years ago.

I'm in for a trip!

Like J.J., I haven't loaded hay in several years. I'd be done after about, say, 3?

There are just some of those counties that you don't want to be in once the sun sets!

My wife went to school in Evansville, I would guess you might have pulled for the Purple Aces back in their heyday.

Let me know if you guys start feeling spry, I'll let you know when we start hauling.

We still have a lot of work to get the place presentable again, but if I can have a few good weekends I think we should be in pretty good shape.

I was more of a Triplets fan(minor league baseball). I grew up on the west side, corn-ville, so the Purple Aces were the rich kids back in my day.

Besides, if you didn't have a poster of the General (Bobby Knight) in your room you were a communist!

What school?
It was F.J. Reitz back in my time..
