Default 727 Question

I guess this is a really simple question honestly, but can't seem to get a straight answer, is a 727 a 727 as far as rebuild parts go? Meaning... if a company, such as PATC, sells rebuild kits for a 727 that will work on Mopar's the same as the scout? Or does the scout have some specialty items that I need to get a kit SPECIFICALLY for an International Scout 727. Just finished rebuilding the engine, and transfer case... now I get to crack into the slush box, this could get interesting quick, the pan was FULL of dog hair, rocks, metal shavings, and clutch material. Not to mention the filter was basically completely clogged, and the thing leaked like no one's business... it however still shifted and ran ok. The abuse these will take is unbelievable! Comming from Ford AOD's where the overdrive will fail if you look at it wrong

I believe the internals are the same, nothing IH specific. In all the research I once did on 727 rebuild kits all I discovered was that not all kits are equal. Some come with more parts than others, some offer better clutches and so on. I would say that if you havent built a 727 or other AT before it would be a good idea to do lots of research so you know exactly what parts you want in your kit

Trans are the same with basically the same year breaks for the internal changes.

I use the ATSG and the 727 book from Munroe. You can get both on Ebay.
Along with a complete master rebuild kit. Normally much cheaper then PATC for the kit. I have bought many specialty items from PATC when doing hop up mods to the trans like the servos upgrades.

I normally opt for all the steels and bushings when doing an unknown trans.
I also include a programming kit in all of them. Normally the Transgo TF-2.

i also use the deeper 618 pan w/filter extention and reuseable gasket.

Yeah, im beginning to think EBAY is the place to go, but Bill usn-1 that transgo kit appears to be a full manual valve body, have a reccomendation for one that still allows me to throw it in drive and let the tranny do the rest?
