Default T53 Transmission

Does anyone here have any information on the T53 OD Transmission, the one I found currently resides in a 66 R185 Fire truck with a 501 I6...
I'm mainly interested in gear ratios, weather it's partially/fully synchronized or not, and how much torque it can handle.
Thanks for any help.

On the little card above the visor it says "T53 OD Trans"
It's a five speed.

t53 is a 5-43 fuller transmission and the rd501 puts out 451 pounds of torque and 210 hp at least thats what the old book i have says.

Not a good choice for any of the Light Line trucks as it is HEAVY! and bulky. For an OD trans in a pickup or Travelall, - won't work in a ScoutII - seek a T34 five speed with gear ratios starting at 6.2 for first and a .2 OD for fifth. You will need the bell housing to go with it. Also, be aware that the gap between 3 and 4 gears is big which can be annoying in the hills especially when towing loads.

My suggestion is to keep your trans and change your diff ratio.

I was thinking about it rather than a ZF5 in a F250.

The F250 would handle it but I have no idea what is involved to swap.

Thanks for the help y'all... Can't find any info on a 5-43 fuller either, but I'll keep looking.
