Default 64 scout

Just got a 64 scout was told its a 800a but I don't think it is and has a v8 was told that was a 392 or 304 how do u tell them apart thanks

A 64 Scout is the 80 series. None came with a V8.
On the passenger side of the V8 block just under the exhaust port of #2 cylinder is a flat spot with the engine serial # and displacement. A wire brush and a mirror are usually necessary to see/read it.

Whichever engine you have in there, the truck has been modified to fit it - not always a bad thing!

Also the Scout 80 the wipers were mounted at the top of the windshield.

Nope. That's not it. The flat pad is on the passenger side. Cylinders are numbered 2,4,6,8 front to back on that side.

Ok guys I was told there is no way my scout is a 64 the wipers are at the bottom of the windshield my tool guy thinks its a 65 I found this # on the bottom of the head its the only # in the spot u told me to look it is 391933 cl or Cude be 381833 cl and there is 1B down on the bolck were u side to look I degrease the hole side it dose have s scout oli pan and international covers on the heads
