Default 727 crash course - Sat May 26th

Got the rebuild kit in so the transmission rebuild for Saturday is on for.this weekend. The plan is to pull the trans Friday and rebuild all day Saturday. Anyone who would like to come is more than welcome just PM me and ill send you the address and directions. I'll probably start the teardown around 9-10 am Saturday. I don't think I would call it a wrench day since its mainly all bench work but if you ever wanted hands on experience with the internals of a 727 before you go at it yourself then come on down.

Jeff is 100% correct
It is crucial to soak them prior to installation
You will want to soak the bands also.

You don't want to use the red "shop towels" the red fibers can cause problems, use the paper shop towles.

Did the kit come with both bands or just 1?

Came with just the kick down band. I actually don't think my bands are bad but pretty sure my clutch packs are toast since it shifts great but slips once in gear but I'm gonna for sure install the new kick down band.

It will be have a feeler gage handy to check the clearance on the assembeled packs.

Plus a rubber tiped blow gun to pressure the servos and clutch packs to ensure they are working correctly
