Default 80 Dual M/C upgrade

I am looking for some advice from someone who has done this upgrade. I am adding a dual piston M/C on my brother's 80 and replacing the brake lines, as well as installing 11" brakes on the front. The pressure differential switch (appears to be out of an 800) supplied by Mr. Scout with my M/C has two ports for front brakes (the 800 has a separate line to each wheel instead of one to the "T" fitting on the axle like the 80. The switch block was sent with one of the front ports plugged. Rather than run a line over the dash bulkhead (it's NEVER called a firewall in my shop) like my 800 has, drilling the inner fenders and hoping that flex hoses from an 800 will work, can I just run with one port to the existing "T" fitting on the front axle? Pressure should be unaffected, I am simply splitting it in a different place. What say you?

I'd say there would be no problem doing it that way. You're right...either seperating the fluid at the pressure switch or at the axle. The only real "issue" I see is that you'll have that one additional rubber hose that could be prone to breaking/damage/whatever.

Okay, so I opened up the holes on the M/C, made a spacer plate to cover up the gap around the base of the new cylinder (the old one was bigger), installed the switch block, made up my brake lines and now there is a clearance issue with the heater blower. Has anyone else run into this? I suppose I could shim it up with some spacers or something, but then the vertical hole won't line up. Is there a different master that wont have this problem?

I don't think so. But there is plenty of space under that hood to shim the heater box.

I did this upgrade with a slightly different MC and had the same clearance issue. My solution was much less elegant as I just notched the ducting on the heater box to fit the new MC.
