Default Fuel Hose Fitting Size

Any hydraulic experts out there: this is a photo of the 1/2" SAE Flare Female that screws into the end of the lift pump to primer pump hose. Does anyone know what that odd thread is on the tapered male end? I am getting either M14x1.0 (if metric) or 9/16"x24 (if imperial), but these sizes do not exist in any catalogs I have access to.

Let me know if anyone knows the size and, better yet, if there is an adapter to a 5/16" ID hose barb.

Cheers,
Casey

Those external threads shown in the pic are part of a reusable fitting set the other end unscrews from the hose (left hand thread IIRC). The hose for them is replaceable.

What Carey said. You'd have an outer piece with a hex that "screwed" over the outside of the hose, then you'd take that fitting you have there and screw it into the center and the threads would screw into the outer piece, squishing the hose between the inner and outer. You can sort of see it here:

Thanks all - that is exactly what I needed to know.
