Well there you have it that about sums it up as to what I have to work with it could be allot worse so I am happy with it. I think I will remove the old carpet on the sides then clean everything up and sand then coat with a rust destroying primer then put bedliner type material down then I plan o making carpet panels for the floor that are removable with sewn edges and I am going to recarpet the sides for sound, insulation and looks I am planning on installing a nice stereo in it so I think that will help and look good too. I just have to decide on the color carpet. Anyone know where I can order the heavy auto carpet with sewn edges or even made for a Scout II that I could have sewn into panel sections. thanks,

I think I've read ACC has the best carpet? You would have to call to get the edges sewed to make panels? Looks like you have a great rig to start with. Thats 99% of the battle working on one of the these old beast. I saw the rockers had some rust holes but thats easy to fix. Thanks for the pictures! |

thanks BigRigg for the compliment and the info those colored vinyl mats are too cool. I think I probably need to try and find some rust killer primer and some bed liner for the floors also. And I need to find some replacement lips for the passenger door lip weather strip at the floor board to weld back in. I saw them somewhere or I think they would be easy to bend up and make out of sheet metal.

I may use single stage on the Scout with a high solids clear. Not sure yet, any ideas? or recomendations from your own experiances?? thanks,

Just painted my 70 800a with smt huger orange. Very easy and they have instruction on the web site. Take the time to spray some extra sheet metal to get the gun to spray right. I did the single stage and bought the one gal package deal. Only used half
