"IF" your going to do this. I would have a spacer plate made so on one side it would bolt down the the "5&10" engine. And the good quality valve covers would bolt to the plate.

You would need both to have a pattern made. And two sets of gaskets. And would think the plate would need to be close to 1" thick for enough threads.

But I would get with Mike Moore (ScoutCO) and put the International script on a generic GM valve cover.

+1 on the IH script decal on the blank covers if you need to do this.

Personally...I think a Scout II done along these lines would be really cool...and DIFFERENT, which is what most Scout guys claim as the #1 reason they like Scouts to begin with.

But that's just me. We all know I'm a few degrees off kilter already.

Have to agree there! Especially after having seen your work and the caliber of most of those Binders that "stray from the norm" @ NATs. Not always your average cup of tea but you can still appreciate the talent and effort spent by the folks that dare to be different.
A Scout II version of that Chebby "Belly-dragger" would be a great next Scoutco Project!
What sayeth the shepherd??

Mike if it were like that I would have no issue with it. But you and I both know that level of modification takes it so far from oe that calling it by the same name is a stretch. Also that level of build is rarely seen in our circle of car culture.
The previous one pictured is about as dumb as trucks I see on the street one tons with 24" rims and rubber band tires! People do some stupid crap with cars! I'm all for custom but some people just don't get it! And all the "bolt-on" how to shows over the last few years have raised this level of hack hot rodding to epidemic levels. Look at the whole "rat rod" movement. With enough work and talent just about any vehicle can come out how you want weather is should exists or not. My only point was that some times theres a reason why you haven't seen a Scout II on the cover low rider!

Move the distributor to the right end? Seems like a lot of work just to make it look right.

In order to get that true IH engine look is very easy. All you need to do is paint it IH red then back off the oil pan and valve cover bolts 1/4 turn........
