Default Co-Scout's/65' Scout 800 Revival Build

Hey Fellas,

I'm very excited about my newly acquired project vehicle. Yes it's rusty in some spots and has a few dents. The Scout sat in the woods for about 20 or so years lol....last time it was tagged was in 89' . I'm not new to working on cars or trucks.. Scout is a 1965 800 with a 152 4cyl...and dana 27's , with a twin stick.

The MAIN reason for the build is to take my family into our beautiful Rocky Mountains....an teach my little girl to appreciate the great outdoors.

Not looking for monster trail rig...just something to putt around the woods iand maybe do some mild wheeling...just enough not to scare the wife an kid lol.

Thanks, for reading and I'm super excited to own a piece of 4x4 history!

ps...love the forum been using it for a few years.

more work on stripping the shag and crud out of the interior...body panels starting to come off. You know the typical "take everything off approach"...ie can of worms

Ok the tub was sripped and repaired then POR-15 was rolled on everywhere. Got the axels freshened up with new seals, replaced brake shoes and cylinders. Got shocks also put in. Oh it runs by the way...she actually fired right up after tinkering with it for about 30 min(this was when i first got it). Mind you it was last tagged in 89'

More pics of progress!

The patch work...ahhh good times. Also made a rear square tube bumper, i still can use the stock tire carrier...i have to beef it up a little to hold the 32". I found the west coast mirrors in a junk yard on a 800 and giggled all the way home.
