Sure looks like an '81-'86 Jeep Dana 300 to me. It has an adapter on the front, that looks like it might be the "Texas" pattern (looks like a mirror image of the outline of Texas). The "Texas pattern". is I.H.
That's a pretty long adapter though, so it's going to sit a ways back, and shorten the rear driveshaft up quite a bit.
I *think* there should be a short shaft inside the adapter which fits between the output shaft of the 727 and the input shaft of the Dana 300.
The guys at Novak Adapters could probably tell you for sure. They are pretty awesome to work with.
Otherwise I'd take the 727 with you, and test fit.
Good luck!

It looks right but you also need the output shaft from the trans it came from.
Then the trans has to be completely disassembled because the output shaft is the first part installed from the inside.

Looks like you got a Dana 300 and a Torqueflite extension housing. Even came with the "hard to find" rear bearing.

absolutly...it's kind of already is really.

I'm not really savvy on swapping Torqueflite parts between manufacturer's but it sounds like Bill is and even though it will bolt right up to the case, the output shafts are different apparently. It's going to be a heck of job putting that jeep output shaft in your IH 727.

You're post has me interested. I'm actually looking for that info now.

Found some good info. It sounds like you may have to carry over more than just the output shaft. Start @ post #5

727 Parts Differences.

It will mate up to a Chrysler housing, not an IH housing, if that is not clear. With the housing removed you should have the standard 6 bolt round pattern.
