Oh I almost forgot. The original reason I got under it was to swap out my e brake cable. It was frayed on one side and froze up on the other. Last summer I met a couple of guys in Middletown Ohio, Rick and Doug. I bought an brake cable from doug, and a back seat w/some small parts from Rick. They were really nice guys. Rick has a huge collection of scouts and doug had an 800 like mine only way nicer. Anyways I put the cable in and it works so I was happy. Im not that familiar with the Dana series can anyone tell me what I have by looking at mine. It had a 44-1 stamped on it. I tried comparing pics and diagrams I think it may be a dana 44 I'm not sure though. Also there was this bracket at the back of my frame I couldn't identify either. Here are pics. There is one from the rear wheel well area as well that needs patched.

Definitely a D44. You will have to post a pick of the hub on it for us to tell if it is a tapered or flanged D44.

Will do but it might be a little while. I rent and where i live working on vehciles isnt allowed. So my garage is for storage and my scout is not in my garage. I'll get to it hopefully soon but I may have to go to Florida for two weeks for work so I may go through some scout withdrawals lol.

I put this ad in the trades classifieds. It's small but it's where I'm at. I've been going training the last few weeks in coconut creek FL, and I'm finally back.
"My 1970 800a I bought came with two sets of wiper arms. One pair is a smaller bayonet style wiper arms with a step down on the end. I like this style better and it fits napa vintage replacement blades really well. The other style are more common for scouts. They are adjustable. They have good threads and strong springs on them. With the style of blades I'll be using it causes the blades to hit the weatherstripping a little. I would like to trade the adjustable style ones for the smaller bayonet style ones. I also bought a straight bayonet style one that was a little longer by mistake. They do not have the step down end. I do not need this if anyone would like it. The first two pictures are of the style I want. The second style are the ones I'm willing to get rid of."

I also have a blade that's one inch longer than what it calls for. So there may not be any hitting with the right sized blade, on the adjustable ones.

To tell if I have tapered or flanged I've read the and searched it. I am a little slow though though I need visuals of both for me to verify. db1115 do I have to take everything apart to see the full hub or it or can I just put a pic with it all together? I didn't have time to pull it apart but I just snapped a quick photo with the wheel on just in case I get lucky. Wasn't sure if that would be enough of an indicator. thanks. Sorry for my lack of knowledge. I'm learning though.

Thanks Davis. From what I've read that's what I want. I saw your washer bottle with the plasti-dip spray it looks really clean. I was impressed would your recommend it for other people, or is it just a temporary thing?

Yep...I think everyone would agree the 30 spline flanged axle you have is preffered over the 19 spline 2 piece tapered D44.

Thats a tough question on the bottle. It seemed to work very well at holding the bottle together and keeping it from cracking. I'm not planning on putting any washer fluid in it...so I'm not sure if it is water tight. It looks pretty good...not quite as good when you get close up on it. It really has nothing to do with the coating...more to do with an irregular surface on an old bottle. Its also very white. It doesnt have the natuarl look of the plastic. When SSS releases the new repo bottle, I plan on getting one headed my way.

Keep the updates coming...really enjoying the thread.

Hmm that something to keep in mind. It might be a good temporary fix for a lot of people until the repo one comes out. I'm hoping to really start digging in and start making major progress on my scout soon. I will definitely keep on the updates. I appreciate you taking the time to answer some of my questions. I'll keep following your thread it's kind of the blueprint of how to do it right for some of us. So keep up the good work.
