Default 73 scout transfer case swap

I have a 73 scout with the A727 auto and the single speed transfer case. I have found a dana 20 from a local salvage yard, and would like to swap them out. From what I can tell, this should be a simple ordeal - but I have some questions.

My 73 had a spare T-case (single speed), and when I compare the input to the d20, they do not appear to be compatable. I still have access to the donar scout that the d20 came out of, and the transmision output has a set of drive gears on it. As far as I can tell, they are the same transmission model. Here's the question: What do I need to get (if anything) to mate the d20 to my current application. I would rather have all of the parts and attack this all at once rather than get half way into it an find that I am missing something.

Thanks for the advice

You need that drive gear off of the other tranny, they are specific to t-cases.If it came off of a 727 it will bolt to yours. You might need drive shafts,I dont know for sure

Front driveshaft for sure, back might work, you can try it and see. But the single speed front shaft is quite a bit longer than the one for the Dana 20. Good opportunity to grab both shafts and put in new U joints, then you know your good for a while. I've done that swap a couple of times and both times I used the driveshafts that came with the donor Dana 20.
