Been away for a while. Interesting replies. Looks like there are opinions on both sides (some are purists, others aren't).
The Scout II body style looks a LOT better than the early Broncos. I prefer a diesel (want to take advantage of longer fuel storage capability, and have the opion to use biofuels). Scout IIs with SD33's and SD33T's are apparently difficult to find, so I'm considering buying a Scout II with a gasoline engine, and replacing it with a GM or Cummins (if possible). I don't like the original Scout upholstery, so would make changes there. A cousin of mine had a King Ranch truck with leather seats, and I swear that the leather felt just like a football. I swore I'd have seats like that someday. Good to know that at least some folks here would still consider it a Scout!
