Best way put so far.

I like the full fendered look, but wish I could shave a little out of my fenders.

If it's a state of mind. I could drive my wifes Van and it's a Scout if I say it's a Scout?

A 1980 Owner's Manual doesn't show any models on it. It just says "1980 Scout Models" on it. Now, drop back to the 1978 "Introduction to the new models" literature, and it lists the models as follows:
Scout II
Scout Traveler
Scout Terra
Scout SS II
And new for '78:
Scout II Cruiser
2-Seat Scout II Cruiser
Scout Traveler Cruiser
Scout Terra Cruiser

Now, note that NOWHERE was a Terra called a Scout II Terra. So, show me one piece of literature from IH that says it is a Scout II Terra.

Plus, look at the original hood pull knob on your 1980 Terra. Tell me what was on it. A Scout II...what that Terra wishes it was.

It doesn't need to say it,it's obvious. We know it's not a Travelall Terra.

A "Scout" is a Scout from the day it was made untill the OWNER doesn't call it a Scout anymore.

Simple as that. Do what you want to it, but untill its not called a Scout anymore, its still a Scout.

When you're a Scout,
You're a Scout all the way,
From your first greeny wire,
To your last rusty day.
