Paul, I haven't done anything yet but tear it all apart!
Sully I'll call you tomorrow and work out a plan.

So I started the day with family stuff so didn't get out in the garage untill noon.
I started out cleaning parts. But the last few months have taken a toll on my blast cabinet. So I'll have to wait and get some parts to overhaul the cabinet.
So I moved on to getting the scout ready for sound deadner and bedliner.
The scout has nothing but some baby puke yellow paint in the engine compartment. This will all be replaced with bedliner. The interior of the truck has a bedliner material in it. But it was sprayed right on the metal. And good prep work was not done since it is peeling in many places. So it will all get removed and replaced by a sound deadner and insulating layer. Then top coated with bedliner. The sound layer will also be sprayed inside the doors. All this is not just for looks but to get rid of that whole driving a tin can feeling. So I started to remove everything in the way. That means all wires, cables, mounts, dash, vents. So if I could unbolt, I did. Not ready to spray yet. But a good start. You can see how half assed the work was done. They could have spent a couple hours removing everything like i did and would have looked a lot better. You can't see it in the pics but there are cobwebs and grease all in the paint.
This don't surprise me though, since I found caked on grease under a nice coat of paint on most of the engine parts.

LOL,
So they ran out of the tan tents and now are down to the green ones.
That has to help with the sun beating on them all day.

Glad you have the watch and not me.
I don't really miss it.
Stay safe.

Well not much done today. I got my *** handed to me last night on the ambulance. So once I got home it was nap time. Luckily I didn't sleep all day. So I was able to get some things done around the house. Then I headed out to Jim's place and picked up a 304. So not sure wha I'm going to do with the rest of it but we got a head. So it will come off and head straight to the machine shop so we can get the motor wrapped up this week. I hope to get all the old bedliner and such striped and everything ready to shoot the new interior and engine compartment by the end of the week. So alot should start happening first thing mon morning.

How many calls do you get there a night and how long is the transport time including report? Before my kids were old enough to go to school, I never was able to go back to bed, and its VERY rare I do other than for an hour or two. Still can't beat it, two days off to work on IH's, but I still don't know were the time goes, I'm not getting nearly as much done as you.

it's hit and miss. my territory is about middle of the road. we're not the busyist but not slow either. we average about 6-12 calls a shift. more on the weekends. some times we get to sleep all night. but usally at least 1-2 calls after 24:00. closest apropriate by our protocol so transport time is about 5-10mins total incident time from dispatch to in quarters is about 45mins.

I guess an ambulance from a big city would be busier, its the same here, same amount and same call time. Of course you have way more squads than here. 15 more years for me unless they change the ret. age.
