Mustang fox body seats with out headrest, out of old hwy ptrl car 5.0 ( it should make scout ride faster ). I read they were a direct bolt on. I had to use some angle to make adapters not bad though, a couple pieces of angle and a couple holes.

I found a screaming deal on stock Recaros out of a VW GTI. Took some fab work but they work great. Now onto modifying the matching rear seats...

PT Cruiser seats bolt directly to stock bucket seat mounts of a scout. They are fairy easy to find, pretty compfy, pass seat folds forward and they recline. Down side is grey or tan are your color choices and not too many options for leather. easiest mod i have made for my Scout.

I went with 1990 Isuzu Trooper seats out of local pull and save. $22 for the pair, and there are always a ton of Isuzu troopers in the yard to choose color from. Bolt into stock sliders with a single piece of angle iron. No cutting/welding needed.

I went with these because they recline forward/back, had good support (6'2, 250#), and I could still run the stock center console. No armrests, but I'm driving a manual with no power steering, so my arms are usually anywhere but resting at my sides!

The SII I traded to Allan Erickson years ago, had a pair of buckets out of a '84 T-bird Turbo Coupe in it. I loved those seats, and they are the same mounting for any of the Fox bodied Mustangs or Thunderbirds ('79-95). They aren't a direct bolt in, the width of the sliders is correct but they're too long. A couple pieces of flat bar fixes that pretty easy.

I find armrests in a Scout to be more of a hindrance than any practical use. Why do you think all the paint is worn off the top of the drivers door?

That said, I'm interested since I need to find a pair for Aaron's '80, and will be looking in the local yards when the weather starts cooperating.

HTH,

Will Marsh

Keep them coming you guys. Got alot of great ideas. The fox body seats really came out nice. Im going to have to make a list and head out to the jy. I would have liked to use the factory seats but they were rusted beyond repair.

Full recline suspension seat with forward tilt so people can still get in the back seat. Fits up to 40" waist which is more than most aftermarket seats. Can use a 5 pt harness

They also have the Baja XD which is a bolt in version of the RS made just for Ford superduty. That fits up to 44" waist and I bet could work with a little customizing.
I really liked my Beard /RedArt SuperSeats in the race Scout. The new racer gets Corbeau Ultras, and the new wheeler will be running non-Ultra Corbeau wide.

I've also run the plastic SummitRacing type buckets. They were fine, but you MUST sit in them properly, with your posterior tucked into the pocket or the lumbar support will bruise your back.

Worked fine when racing, but sucked when I was just going for a ride around town.
