Thanks i do a bit of light metal fab and welding at work as part of my shop maintainence duties. It's a nice changeup from 25 yrs of butchering wood! Hopefully i can do all the metal repairs justice with a decent paint job. i'll be attempting that myself too.

Thanks for the compliment. I'm in my happy place out in the shop, it seems every time I take a part off I get another 5lbs of mud/dirt/rust on the floor! I'll bet I've got between 25 and 30lbs so far. It should help the mileage a bit.I'm starting the driver side floor this weekend. I'm ahead of the game having made both sides parts at the same time.

I can believe that, I think I spent more time sweeping that working on my scout when I first started my project. BTW, gotta love those beautiful plaid seats!!!

Ya that was a nice bonus, the buckets and back seat are in great shape. no tears and the folding mechanism all works. Of course anything related to the floor such as the seat bases is toast! they are saveable though. I'd love to find some more of that plaid material to do the door panels the same.

Only got out in the shop for 3hrs but managed to cut out the driver rocker and cab mount along with what was left of the floor. I will have to rebuild some of the tunnel on this side too. Also cut off the mud guard and took all my base measurements first. Helps putting it right on assembly. Tomorrow I should be able to weld in the inner and outer rockers and make all my tunnel patterns. You never know how far you'll get on a sunday!
